In early 70s a few far-sighted local gentlemen, realizing the importance of English in the education of children, began to think in terms of the possibility of opening an English Medium School in Bajpe for the benefit of the children of this rural area. The availability of children of the Central Government employees attached to Bajpe Airport strengthened the idea. The discussion on the subject at the regular meeting of the Lions Club provided further encouragement.

        But someone has to take a bold step. In spite of the fact that his children were already in English Medium School in the city of Mangalore, Mr.Gration Arouza Pai came forward to take up the task of funding and English Medium School as his social commitment. He was whole heartedly supported by Dr. S.V. Maiya, Mr. K.M Nayak of Bombay Flying Club, stationed at Bajpe Airport, Mr. K.B. Subbaiah and a few others from the airport.

The thing began to take shape. The dream has to come to be true. In June 1974 Mr. Gration Arouza Pai and his friends took a step to start L.K.G and U.K.G classes with the strength of 10 and 12 students respectively in a rented building at a place now known as Mura Junction on the Airport Road. Std I was also opened in the same building in May 1975. 

A building was essential to accommodate the new classes opening year after year till Std VII. Mr.
Gration Arouza Pai once again came forward to provide a permanent solution for the issue of a permanent
building and playground for the school. In memory of his parents, he donated a stretch of land of 1.90 acres on
the Airport Road to the Catholic Board of Education.  

The progress and the development of the school under Catholic Board of Education is well known to
everyone. It was under the management of Catholic Board of Education of the Diocese of Mangalore from 1981,
that the school has established itself with good standard and high ideas. 

The school is being run with the support and co-operation of the parents who have been associated very much in
the growth of the institution. The local management Committee under the leadership of the Joint Secretary of
the school, strives to update the school with the required facilities for the total and allround development of the
children.
